Mexico 2009

We reached the airport perfectly in time and had a quick McDonalds meal before boarding the plane. Seems like the plane will be a 747-400 of KLM Asia.

Waiting for the security check now, and then boarding. Nice and lovely 12 hours coming......

We walked around Amsterdam some more, just taking photos and enjoying the warm spring day.. Afterall, walking really isnt a bad idea if you have a 12 hour flight coming..

The boarding time of the flight is closing, so we decided to take a train this time. Probably will be noticeable faster than the bus..

We have about 5 hours to spend in Amsterdam, so we decided to go see the city and find some breakfast. After wondering around the Schiphol airport for a while and trying to find the fastest way to get to the centrum, we took a bus. I guess it wasnt the perfect call, as the bus drove quite a bit around the centrum. The airport is only a few kilometers from the centrum, and the bus took around 30 minutes..

After some sightseeing we arrived to the central area, found a nice bagel restaurant and are enjoying our morning coffees and bagels with bacon.. :)

.. And we have arrived Amsterdam, 20 minutes ahead the schedule. Its a nice morning, the sun is shining and the temperature is around 5 degrees. And, no snow :))

Now its breakfast time.. A beer in the centrum, maybe :)

The bus took me without problems to Helsinki-Vantaa airport, and I even managed to find Timo and get a cup of hot coffee... Blah, time for the security check fun once again.

I never got to sleep before midnight, so I had just a bit over one hour of sleep before the alarm clock violently woke me up. A quick breakfast (Hmm, can you actually call it a breakfast under these conditions?:) and I was ready to go. Well, maybe not feeling so ready but..

Right now Im on my way to the airport by a bus, desperately trying to catch some more sleep. Unfortunately only trying..

And dont worry, the quality of the pictures will improve quite a bit when I stop using the ridiculously bad quality camera of my cellphone and switch to something better :)

Now the time of our departure and the beginning of this journey is getting really close. In a few hours I should be jumping into a bus which will take me to Helsinki and to the airport. As lazy as I always am, I had done next to nothing before this evening.. Now everything is packed anyway.

As a last minute impulsive shopping I ended up buying a Panasonic DMC-LX3 digital compact camera that will accompany my DSLR in Mexico. I have been looking for a second small camera for a long time, and the Panasonic kinda impressed me with its features and size. A big DSLR isn't the most handy camera during the nights in the city anyway. Halen just picked it up from the verkkokauppa.com store in Helsinki, and will bring it to the airport. :)

I'll try to catch a few hours of sleep now, and then it's the time to go...
