Finding the first meeting and party place of the HC/CS midsummer camp took a while. It was totally in middle of nowhere, deep in the forests of Latvia. 1 hour of driving back and forth and we found it finally.

After arriving to the guesthouse we had a nice traditional dinner with some latvian sausages, vegetables etc. Now just relaxing, somebody is warming up the sauna etc.. We are going to stay in here for 2 days, and at monday we are going to another place by boats for having a latvian midsummer party.

At some points it was raining really badly, but luckily in here everything is dry and we actually have sleeping places inside so no need for tents.

Pekka forgot his scarf in my car last winter, and after that the scarf has been travelling all around the Europe. Now we got a stupid idea.. Taking pictures of the scarf in many places, and then sending the scarf and the pictures to Pekka from Romania or somewhere.. Tomorrow a local llama will hold the scarf ( they have a zoo in here ) and maybe also some famous statues in Italy will do the same etc :)

After a quick ferry trip we arrived Tallinn. In Helsinki the weather was fine when we left, but in Tallinn it is raining heavily. I hope its just Tallinn and the rain will stop before we get to Latvia.

For some reason I actually managed to get lost while driving out of Tallinn. That hasnt happened for a while.. Anyway, we found the right way quite quickly. Right outside Tallinn we stopped at the same place as every time. 15km outside Tallinn there are a Hesburger burger restaurant and a gas station, providing a perfect chance to refuel the car and the people before heading south.

Now its time for a burger, and then towards Latvia..

I was attending a midsummer party at a friend´s cottage yesterday, and having a few beers. That made waking up early a challenging task. We managed to do it anyway, packed the car and started driving to Helsinki. As usual, we were a bit late but arrived Helsinki harbor just in time.

Right now we are driving into the ferry, always so ugly M/S Tallink Superstar, ready to leave Finland for over a month :)

This day should be the longest day in here. People celebrate midsummer here by going countryside, doing BBQ, sailing, swimming, burning bonfires and so on. It is not so different than in our neighbour countries. We spent our last midsummer (Jani in latvian) in Latvia. I´m really waiting to see it again, even tough all the elements were all the same (having fun, eating, drinking, playing games, even the bonfire) the atmosphere was different.

Tomorrow, I´ll be packing rest of my stuff. Most of it is allready ok. Then we´ll go to Eerik´s mom to have lunch. Maybe if we have time we go to see friends and BBQ with them . At saturday morning early wake-up and we´ll be on our way to Latvia. I´m really exited!

Ok, the blog code is ready enough, so it´s time to empty the test entries from the database and actually start writing blogentries..
The ferry to Tallinn will leave in a bit over 2 days, and we are slowly getting everything packed and ready. Can´t wait :)
