Subject: Post: Yesterday we continued our drive towards our destination, the Saharan outpost of Merzouga, driving fast through the empty desert roads. We stopped halfway for Todra Gorge canyon and arrived to Merzouga just before the sunset. The highlight of the place is the Sahara desert, so we choose to stay in the desert for the night in a berber tent. We rode camels to the tents, arriving there just before darkness, had a dinner and after the cold night rode back to the city after sunrise. The night in the desert was an interesting experience. The night is so dark that you cannot see absolutely anything. I woke up in the tent at night and it really was a strange feeling to not be able to see the tent or anything else but darkness. The stars were shining brightly over the desert though, tried to take some pictures of them but it was pretty much impossible to do in the strong wind without a proper tripod.
