Subject: Post: Three days to departure, so I guess it would be a good time to start packing some stuff. Last week I ended up deciding that I don't want to carry 5kg of camera equipment around the jungles, so I'm leaving my trusted 5Dmk2 home this time. Instead of that I'll be taking a newly bought Fuji X100 with me. Let's see how it works out, probably takes some time to get used to photographing only with a 35mm focal length lens. I have been playing around with the Fuji a couple of days now, and it's definitely a lovely piece of photographic equipment. This year most of the pictures during the trip will also have GPS information attached to them and will be displayed on the map as blue dots. I'm using a GisTEQ Phototrackr DLP900 external GPS logger for tagging the photos, Timo will have Nikon GPS module attached to his camera. About the route.. We will be departing Helsinki-Vantaa airport on early Saturday morning and flying to Milano with Finnair and then continuing to Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific. In Hong Kong we have a bit less than two days to wander around the city, and then AirAsia will fly us to Kota Kinabalu, Borneo. So far we don't have much plans, just hostels booked for the first nights in both cities. After that our route and accomodations are still totally open. Latitude: Longitude: Security Code:
