Subject: Post: I passed the border to Syria easily with my prearranged visa, but Don was not quite that lucky. For an American getting a Syrian visa beforehand is much more difficult and expensive, so he relied on getting the visa on the border.<p>Now Im sipping a cold Efes beer in a cafe on the other side of the border while Don is sitting behind the border fence waiting for his visa application to be approved.
